what most newsletters get wrong

Tons of folks think they need to run a newsletter.

But they don’t understand its purpose.

So they end up wasting time sending emails into the void, hoping someone claps.

Look, every single thing you do in your business should grow revenue.

And yes, this is about money.

Your Stripe account is a scoreboard for how many people you help.

Help more, earn more.

So back to newsletters.

Should you get one going? Maybe.

But you need to be really clear on the job it's meant to do or it will suck your time away.

A great newsletter pulls off 3 easy things:

  1. Solve their headaches.
  2. Stay top of mind
  3. And show them the next step.

So the second they think "I could use a hand," your face is the first one they see.

Teaching is nice, but it’s not enough.

If it doesn’t pave the path forward toward your sales process, it’s pointless.

Value + Next step

That’s the simple framework that works.

Too many are offering value with no clear next step… huge waste of time and money.

Here’s two simple ways to nudge subscribers toward taking the next step:

  1. Super Signature
  2. Story-Related CTA

The Super Signature is simple and easy if you’re just getting started.

You share the value, then add it to the bottom. Here’s an example:

Gentle, useful, and always walking them a step closer to working with you.

The story-related CTA will get more clicks because it’s part of the email body, but requires more finessing.

You simply link the story back to a pain/problem you solve, and ask for the click

“Ok, simple enough, but how do I actually add people to my newsletter?”

Every single lead you speak to or who enters your world should be added to your email list.

They came to you with a problem, and now you’re giving them a bunch more free value to help them on their journey.

They don’t like it? No problem. They’ll unsubscribe themselves. But if the content is good, most won’t.

“But I’m not talking to enough leads to grow my list…”

Then, guess what?

You need more leads.

Unless you already have a big list, a newsletter won’t rescue your business…

So if leads are the bottleneck in your biz, click here to see how we generate more leads than you can handle.

But if you still want to launch or improve your newsletter, remember this:

  1. Lead with value
  2. Add a super signature or story-related CTA
